I was very grateful for the truth spoken so plainly and unapologetically. The discussion questions were helpful and I look forward to growing with my husband in grace and mercy. Might I also add...good snacks!

This weekend's marriage workshop was an inspiration to me. Stu and Ruth Ann presented marvelous insights about the marriage relationship in light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Of particular help were the times where my wife and I were "forced" to discuss issues which we might not otherwise address, due to the self-righteous avoidance of our own sin. Because of the atmosphere of grace that was intentionally established, I was able (finally!) to express to her how difficult it is to want to be a spiritual leader in the family because that requires the humiliation of demonstrating repentance and dependence on God. Thankfully, the identity and reputation of Christ cover all my faults and shortcomings, making me able to be transparent and help foster true intimacy in the marriage. These insights and others connected with me in fresh ways at the workshop, and I pray that God will keep the Gospel fresh for me and everyone who heard it this weekend, for the rest of our lives.
