It was rather stupid for the pirates to attack a US flag vessel. Keep in mind that flag of convienence nations like Liberia and Panama are not sending their navies to defend their ships. While I believe piracy as a whole is not cool, it will continue to occur provided merchant ships are not able to directly (armed) to fight back. Most nation terratorial waters do not allow armed merchant ships and it is a huge liability for the commercial company. Looking forward to our summer trip to Oregona nd Washington, Chad.
